With a little reluctance we left our lake, Tranquility Base, for the drive south to the Algarve.
It was an easy drive once we joined the IP2 road which was like a single lane motorway. Every few km there were exit and entry slip roads which meant there were no local donkey carts or pedestrians to worry about. The road surface was excellent although once we joined the IC1 that deteriorated.
As we drove south the clouds cleared and the sun took over as we joined the infamous N125.
We twisted and turned through multiple roundabouts at Lagos, which seemed so much bigger and more developed than we remembered, finally arriving at the Touriscampo site at Espiche.
